These terms apply when you create an account or use ScrapingBot’s website, API or MCP server (together, “the service”). By using the service you agree to them. If you use it for a company, you agree on its behalf and confirm you are allowed to.
Your account and API keys
- Give a real email address and keep your sign-in details and API keys secret. You are responsible for all use of your keys, including by anyone you share them with or invite to your team. If a key leaks, delete it in the dashboard and create a new one.
- One free account per person or company. Creating extra accounts to get more free credits is not allowed.
- You must be at least 16, and old enough to enter a contract where you live.
Credits, plans and payment
- Credits. Each request costs the number of credits shown in the documentation and on the pricing page. A request that fails on our side or times out is refunded automatically, as the documentation describes.
- Free credits. New accounts get 100 free credits, once. The free plan allows one request at a time.
- Paid plans are monthly subscriptions billed in advance through Stripe, and renew automatically until you cancel. Each billing cycle gives you the plan’s credits; unused plan credits don’t carry over to the next cycle.
- Changing or cancelling. You can change or cancel your plan at any time from the billing page. When you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for and then doesn’t renew.
- Prices and taxes. Prices are on the pricing page and may include or add taxes where required. We may change prices; changes apply from your next billing cycle, and we will tell you before they do.
- Refunds. Subscription payments aren’t refundable except where the law says otherwise. If you think you were charged by mistake, email us within 30 days and we will look into it.
- If a renewal payment fails, your paid plan may lapse until it goes through.
Acceptable use
ScrapingBot returns publicly available data. You are responsible for what you collect and how you use it, including complying with the laws that apply to you (such as privacy, data protection, consumer protection and copyright laws) and with any rules that bind you about the sites you collect from. You agree not to use the service to:
- Access content behind a login, a paywall or other access controls, or any non-public or private data.
- Track, monitor, profile or harass individuals, build dossiers on people, or make decisions about people’s eligibility for jobs, credit, housing or insurance.
- Collect sensitive personal data (such as health, religion, political opinions, sexuality or biometrics) or children’s data.
- Send spam, or collect contact details for unsolicited messages.
- Break the law, infringe others’ rights, or collect data you have no right to use.
- Overload or disrupt any website, or our service, or try to get around our limits, billing or security.
- Resell or give away raw access to the API itself (for example, a public proxy for our endpoints). Building your own product on top of the data is fine.
We may suspend a key or account that breaks these rules or puts the service or others at risk. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.
Data and content
- Your data. What you collect with the service belongs to you or to its owners, not to us. We use it only to run your requests, and keep it as described in our Privacy Policy.
- Accuracy. Public data comes from sources we don’t control. It can be incomplete, out of date or change shape, and some fields (for example certain view counts) are not always available. Check what matters before you rely on it.
- AI features. AI extraction and the ChatGPT endpoint produce answers generated by a model, which can be wrong. Review them before using them for anything important.
- Our service. The website, API, documentation, code samples and brand are ours. You may use the documentation and code samples to build on ScrapingBot. Code in our public GitHub repository is licensed under its own license.
- Feedback. If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything.
Availability and changes
We work to keep the service fast and available, but we don’t guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and there is no service level agreement unless we sign one with you separately. We may add, change or retire endpoints and features; if we retire something you use on a paid plan, we will give reasonable notice.
Disclaimer
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data, even if we were told they were possible. Our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US $100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn’t allow to be limited.
Indemnity
If someone makes a claim against us because of how you used the service or the data you collected with it, in breach of these terms or the law, you will cover our reasonable costs and losses from that claim.
Ending your account
You can stop using the service at any time; to close your account and delete its data, email [email protected]. We may close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms. When an account closes, unused credits are lost and the sections that by their nature should survive (such as payment owed, data and content, disclaimer, liability and indemnity) still apply.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and for meaningful changes we will email account holders before they take effect. Using the service after that means you accept the new terms.
General
These terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the service, unless we sign a separate agreement. If part of them can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a right right away doesn’t waive it. You may not transfer these terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a merger or sale of the business.
